Welcome to the WorkSource Orientation - Join us for this informative session. Learn about the many services available to you through the WorkSource System. You will hear about programs and resources to enhance your efforts in seeking employment.
Job Search Workshop- This comprehensive workshop is packed with a punch! Get ready to learn about what traits employers are seeking, the concepts of networking, the basics of resumes and cover letters, winning interview techniques and salary negotiation advice, time management in your job search and much, much more.
Resumes and Cover Letters- Valuable information about the different types of resumes that will help you to land an interview. Upon completion of this workshop, you will have the knowledge you need to create a professional personal resume, cover letter, reference sheet, salary history, and thank you letter. **
Interview - Salary Negotiations- You never get a second chance to make that first impression! This workshop is designed to share those tools you need to make a lasting impression that wins the job. You will learn how to interview confidently and negotiate with ease. **
** (Please note: Wednesday's Resume Writing Workshops and Interviewing Techniques Workshopsare condensed courses which highlight the most important components of a resume and help you to interview with confidence. These one hour workshops are packed full of information and are presented in Spanish on the third Wednesday of every month).
Hidden Job Market- Learn how to look for work by thinking "Outside the Box". Did you know that 75%-85% of all jobs are not advertised? Learn about what the hidden job market is, how to initiate contacts and leads, network and find job openings before they are advertised.Transferable Skills- Discover your own unique set of marketable skills. Expand your view of jobs that you can do and change the way you look at the job market. This workshop is great for every job seeker, from those who have been out of the labor market for some time, to those who are thinking about changing careers, to those who just need to sharpen up their resumes with the "right" skills that will impress the employer.
Coping with UI- Are you unemployed and confused on how the Unemployment Insurance system works? This informative session will shed some light on Unemployment Insurance issues and the claim process, special UI programs, employment services and more. Learn how to cope with related stress, time management and financial planning techniques as you look for employment.
"Attend a Job Fair, Land a Job"- Are you attending job fair after job fair with no successful outcome? Learn how to prepare before the event and how to follow-up after the job fair. You will shine among all of the other attendees.
CalJOBS Workshop - The workshop will provide an overview of CalJOBS, help job seekers register, develop résumés and utilize CalJOBS tools to search for work.
CTB, WOTC & Bonding - Learn how to go to school while receiving Unemployment Insurance through California Training Benefits (CTB), how to utilize Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC) and bonding to help market yourself to employers.
Online Job Search - This workshop is designed for job seekers who need to create an email, learn to search for jobs on the internet, browse job banks and useful websites, upload resumes and complete online applications using appropriate keywords.
Veteran's Orientation - The Veteran's orientation will provide military veterans with tips on time management, job search resources and techniques, resume writing tips and interviewing. Learn all about veteran's benefits and resources. Guest speakers are the highlight of this informative presentation.
