WorkSource California is the name for the network of full-service business centers located throughout Los Angeles County. Each WorkSource Center offers efficient, cost-effective hiring, downsizing, training, and technology services to employers and businesses of all sizes.

WorkSource Centers offer qualified candidate listings, employee training sessions, conference rooms and meeting space, free job postings, and a fully equipped office center with computer, fax, and Internet access. Small business owners can also take advantage of specialized workshops and seminars related to recruitment and other human resources issues.

WorkSource Centers frequently partner with Los Angeles County Rapid Response transition experts to provide on-site transition counseling, downsizing placement assistance, unemployment insurance information, and up-to-date labor market news. These services can be accessed simply by walking through the door of the WorkSource center: no prior appointment is necessary.

WorkSource staff pre-screen candidates and offer customized placement services to pair potential employees with appropriate businesses. Training facilities, skill assessment, and job assistance counseling further assist the process of finding a suitable match.

  • How many WorkSource Centers are located in Los Angeles County?

Los Angeles County is home to nearly 50 WorkSource Centers. There are thousands of WorkSource Center located throughout the United States, which are all part of America’s Workforce Network.

  • How did WorkSource Centers originate?

WorkSource Centers are a product of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), which changed the way federal funds could be used to support local workforce initiatives by combining previously separate programs within a single location, or “WorkSource.” The law also shifted the focus of federal employment programs to provide a core set of services to all citizens, with additional services available to individuals who meet certain eligibility requirements.
